happy new year.

How did you all welcome the new year of 2021?

It was New Year's Day when I couldn't actively go out for homecoming, New Year's visit, travel, etc., but the year-end and New Year holidays in Tokyo, where I am, were sunny like never before.
Especially on New Year's Day, the blue sky spread out and the refreshing sun came in.
Looking up at the sky, it seems to tell us that this year will be a good year without cloudiness.
It was a new year filled with the joy of welcoming the new year, along with a sunny feeling that I have never felt before.

I would like to spend this year in good health while facing changes in the times and positively.

Well, in the previous Wellness Journal, “Spend the long autumn nights with mindfulness.”, as a way to get into a state of mindfulness, we will give you tips on how to “compassionately and cherish the present” throughout the day. I've been introduced.

Following ISSUE 01's wellness and ISSUE 02's mindfulness, this ISSUE 03 is about well-being.

Well-being is not something that can be said with certainty, but is something that everyone has to feel and experience in their own hearts.

What is well-being?

I learned about well-being in New York, where I lived at the time. Well-being was used by people to describe a state of being mentally, physically, and socially healthy.

Well-being is directly translated as “happiness, happiness” in Japanese, but there is a nuance of “sustained happiness” rather than temporary happiness.

So far, I have talked about the importance of listening to your heart and body and taking care of them. If you know what makes you feel comfortable, you should be able to be conscious of it on a daily basis, and you should be able to sustain a happy state.

What is “comfortable things for me”? When you think about it, it may not come to mind immediately.
One thing I do know is that "comfortable things" are somewhere between "very comfortable things" and "very uncomfortable things".
Therefore, it is important to know not only the things that are very comfortable, but also the things that are bad.
We can move towards well-being by knowing ourselves.

In addition, as we aim for well-being, we would like to introduce two messages that we would like to know.

Accept yourself as you are

Take a rest when you are tired.
When you can't keep running, stop.
Don't force yourself to be positive.
It's natural to be negative sometimes.
It is important to acknowledge your feelings.

There are times when "Ikagen" can act as "Good sloppiness" without being overbearing.

communicate with important people

Talk to people around you.
If someone needs help, reach out.
When you need help, ask for help.
Relying on others is not a weakness.
Because we live by supporting each other.

Last year, more than ever, I think it was a year to think about my health and the health of my loved ones.
Don't you think of someone more important than now by admiring yourself?

We all stand at the gateway to well-being.
Let's continue to search for a happier life with a healthy mind and body.

You are the hero of your life.

■Editor's Note/Mai Shiratori
Recently, I often hear voices from my family, friends, and colleagues saying, "I think I'm going to catch a cold...". In such a case, I quickly take out Lypo-C from my bag and give it to the person along with my thoughts on their health.

What is common to the person you give it to is that it becomes a somewhat relieved face. Just seeing their faces makes me happy, and the words "thank you" that accompany them fill my heart with the feeling that we understand each other's feelings.

For me, this is one of the well-beings that comes from communication.

In this series, we unraveled the words related to wellness and gave you some hints to put into practice. How was it?

Some people may find it difficult to imagine or put into practice just by talking about the meaning of words and ways of thinking.
Wellness Journal concludes with this issue. Starting from here, I will continue to make suggestions for Health+ing (proactively seeking health). looking forward to!

The cold is now in full swing.

Take care of yourself and have a heartwarming time!
