I want to be careful from now on! Spring "ultraviolet" care

- ・If you prepare your body, your mind will also be prepared
Lypo-C will hold walking events in 5 cities nationwide to commemorate "Vitamin C Day" on April 4th!
At the venue in Fukuoka, a doctor gave a wellness talk show.
This time, from the talk show, we will deliver "Spring UV care" by Dr. Hashimoto of Molecular Nutrition.
This time, we asked about "external/internal care" from the perspective of molecular nutrition, from the basic knowledge of ultraviolet rays.
Tomoko Hashimoto
Clinical molecular nutritional medicine certified instructor. High-concentration vitamin C infusion therapy certified doctor. My confidence in breast cancer led to my encounter with molecular nutrition. At the clinic, he conducts molecular nutrition tests and counseling, and treats patients who are not sick enough to go to the hospital.
Not just for summer! Beware of UV Rays in Spring
─When you think of UV rays, you probably think of summer, when the sun is strong, but what about UV rays in spring?
UV rays are present all year round and become stronger from February to March. However, at that time, the skin is still winter. I'm not ready for UV exposure yet.
The skin becomes thicker in the summer to protect it from UV rays.
However, the skin is still thin in February and March. So, it is necessary to take measures against UV rays firmly from spring.
─ UV care is important in spring when the skin is not ready! Please tell us about the basics of UV rays.
There are three types of UV rays (UVA, UVB, and UVC), and it is UVA that causes spots and wrinkles.
UV energy is stronger in UVB and weaker in UVA. However, the amount of UVA is higher, and it is characterized by high permeability to the skin.
It penetrates deep into the dermis, oxidizes skin cells, causes photoaging, and causes blemishes and wrinkles, so caution is required.
Active oxygen is produced when the skin is exposed to UV rays.
If the amount of collagen and elastin decreases due to the active oxygen, or if the quality deteriorates, deep wrinkles will occur, the production will deteriorate, and the firmness and luster will be lost. This is "photoaging".
It's just that UV Rays are important, but moderate sunlight is also necessary for humans.
UV rays have a bad reputation, but they also have a positive side. Synthesis of vitamin D in the body, strengthening bones, promoting metabolism, and boosting immunity can be expected, so it is an essential nutrient, especially during times of coronavirus and influenza.
We recommend getting at least 15 minutes of light sun exposure per day.
"Outside/Inside" UV care
─I would like to know how to effectively protect against UV rays. First of all, from "outside care".
Outside care includes sunscreen, sunglasses, and parasols.
After that, it is important to wrap a stole and avoid exposing your skin and eyes to UV rays as much as possible.
When buying a parasol, choose "black" as it absorbs UV rays.
However, even if you are covered with a parasol, there will be glare from the ground, so it is a good idea to apply sunscreen.
─What kind of home care would be effective if you “accidentally got sunburned” without taking sun protection measures?
When exposed to ultraviolet rays, the skin becomes inflamed, so first cool the body that is hot.
After that, it is recommended to use lotions or packs containing vitamin C derivatives, as the inflammation tends to subside.
─ Next, please tell us about “inner care”.
In inner care, it is important to take nutrients with "antioxidant action" to remove active oxygen.
The first is vitamin A (beta-carotene).
Vitamin A is found in dark green vegetables such as carrots and green peppers. It's a fat-soluble vitamin, so it's good to take it with oil.
and vitamin C.
It is also included in citrus fruits and vegetables, so I want to take it properly.
Then there are the polyphenols.
There are various types of polyphenols, such as anthocyanins contained in blueberries and soybean polyphenols.
Polyphenols are water-soluble (same as vitamin C), so don't heat them and take them raw.
Consuming these antioxidant nutrients will lead to UV care.
─ Regarding vitamin C, I have heard that taking it before going out makes it easier to get sunburned. What do you think about this?
It's not the vitamin C itself that's bad, it's a component called psoralen contained in citrus fruits. Psoralen has the effect of increasing the absorption of ultraviolet rays, which is probably why it is said that it makes it easier to get sunburned.
However, psoralen is also a story of "when you take a large amount". I don't think anyone eats several kilograms of citrus fruits, so I don't think you need to be overly sensitive.
─So the misunderstanding was caused by the psoralen, not the vitamin C itself. thank you.
Please let me know if there is a timing to take vitamin C effectively.
General vitamin C is water-soluble, so in that case, I would like you to take it "after meals".
However, in the case of liposomal vitamin C such as Lypo-C it is recommended to take it "before meals" because it can be expected to absorb better.
─I heard that your teacher usually uses Lypo-C. What kind of scene do you drink?
I drink when I'm hungry before meals and before I go to bed.
However, I change the amount depending on the day, and adjust the amount by increasing the amount when I am busy.
Also, when I have an event coming up in a few days and I want to prepare my beauty for it, I sometimes drink 3 packs a few days in advance.
That way, you will be in good shape on the day, and your makeup will go on smoothly.
When you prepare your body, you prepare your mind
─Finally, I would like to ask about the theme of the event, “Meguri”. What does the teacher think is important in visiting the mind and body?
I believe that when you put your body in order, your mind will inevitably be put in order.
So keep your body in shape.
However, how you organize it is also important.
For example, many people think that they are healthy if they do not find any abnormalities in physical examinations or blood tests.
However, even if it does not appear as a disease, many people feel some kind of discomfort, such as severe menstrual pain or insomnia.
It is often the case that you are not getting enough nutrients, so we recommend that you do a molecular nutrition blood test to know your own body.
"Molecular nutrition", which I specialize in, is a diagnostic treatment that finds the root cause of poor physical condition whose cause is unknown.
Molecular nutrition blood tests can check your own condition in detail, such as the balance of the autonomic nervous system, the amount of gastric acid secretion, and the state of cells, which cannot be determined by blood tests covered by health insurance.
Know your body and face it.
When you trim your body, your mind will inevitably be trimmed.
And when your heart is ready, you can treat yourself and the people around you kindly. I think so.
