A woman's body is said to be susceptible to the rhythm of the moon, temperature differences, and changes in the environment. The life stages have clear milestones such as puberty, maturity, and menopause, depending on the secretion of female hormones.
Therefore, this series will be delivered over 3 times with the theme of women's body troubles. In the third installment, we interviewed Ms. Hanako Shimizu, director of the Tama Center Women's Clinic, on the theme of "menopause."
Menopause is said to be highly individual. What are the symptoms?
Menopause is considered to be 50 years old, and five years before and after that, that is, from 45 to 55 years old is said to be menopause. "But..." Shimizu said.
“When I go to outpatient clinics, I see that there are many people who are over 50 years old and still have their period. As it is said to be an era of plentiful food, I think that nutrition is probably having an effect.”
It is said that the period of menopause varies from person to person, but what worries me is the symptoms.
“The most commonly seen is a hot flash called vasomotor disorder. It suddenly becomes hot and cools down several times a day, and you have profuse sweating and heart palpitations. In addition to hot flashes, various symptoms can occur.”
Below is a summary of possible symptoms.
✔ hot flash
✔ Depressed
✔ Unmotivated
✔ Poor memory
✔ Decrease work efficiency
✔ You won't be able to do what you used to be able to do
✔ Frustrating
Unexpectedly, many mental health symptoms stand out.
“It is said that the main cause of these menopausal disorders is that the secretion of the female hormone estrogen is reduced and the balance of the autonomic nervous system is lost. It can be said that the individual differences in the symptoms and severity of menopause are often related not only to female hormones, but also to other influences.”
If you feel symptoms, first try to adjust the autonomic nervous system
Menopause can be asymptomatic for some people, and very distressing for others. Is there any way to ease the symptoms of the pain?
“In order to balance the autonomic nervous system, it is important to be exposed to sunlight and to have a habit of exercising. It is also effective to adjust the internal clock by exposing yourself to the sun when you wake up in the morning and getting a good night’s sleep. …However, there are many people who cannot sleep during menopause. You wake up in the middle of the day.As a countermeasure, you may be prescribed medication to help you sleep at night. In addition, depending on the symptoms, hormones may be administered. You can also stabilize it with the power of medical care, so if you are having a hard time, please consult the clinic.”
Dr. Shimizu recommends Lypo-C as a supplement. “If you drink it at night, you will feel different when you wake up. I hear people say that if they drink a lot on the night of a busy day, they will feel better the next day, and I feel the same way. If there are days when I think, 'Oh, maybe I'm feeling a little better today,' that gives me confidence and helps me find my rhythm."
It seems that some patients always have Lypo-C as a talisman supplement.
Even though I'm in my 30s... What are the measures for such "pre-menopause"?
“Pre-menopause,” where people start complaining of symptoms in their 30s, is often talked about. What is the cause?
“It is not a true menopausal disorder. Earlier, I mentioned that the disturbance of the autonomic nervous system caused by a decrease in female hormones is the cause of menopausal disorders, but there are other causes that disturb the autonomic nervous system and cause symptoms similar to menopausal disorders. When I actually looked into people who complained of "pre-menopause," there were many cases in which female hormones were being released."
In other words, even if you do the same treatment as menopause, the symptoms will not be alleviated.
Mr. Shimizu advised me, "For such people, it is important to regulate the autonomic nervous system. Let's reduce stress and review the environment."
summary
Menopause, when female hormones decrease at once, not only causes discomfort, but also changes in the body and skin. There may be many times when you have anxiety and impatience, but it is a visit to everyone.
Don't worry about it alone, talk to your surroundings and clinic teachers. And in order to spend every day in good health, make sure to supplement vitamin C, which tends to be lost.
