Not a passing trend, but a new way to experience and value wellness to "create the health of the future. SPIC proposes new wellness experiences and values for the future. The employees of Lypo-C tell the stories of me and that connect "the past" and "the future. In this third installment, we introduce the story of Rei Miyashita, a member of the CRM team in the Marketing Department of the Consumer Business Division.
I want to develop Lypo-C into a national brand.
"I find it fascinating that Lypo-C was born not from thinking about what would sell, but from asking, 'What is a product that will make people happy?'" says Rei Miyashita of the CRM Team in the Marketing Department of the Consumer Business Division. He is currently in charge of planning and implementing measures for existing customers.
Before joining SPIC, he gained experience as a sales writer at a company that developed a content business. Although he felt it was rewarding to put the appeal of content into words using various approaches, he began to have doubts about the pursuit of maximum instantaneous speed, such as creating a buzz, and decided to change jobs. "It's not just about selling content or products; I want to pursue how customers change and how they become happier after that. That's when I came across SPIC, which handles Lypo-C."
When he first joined SPIC, he was in charge of measures to increase brand awareness in a new team. He says he experienced everything from planning to execution, including exhibiting at events held in regional cities, such as the "Susukino Ice World" held at the Sapporo Snow Festival, and sponsoring sporting events run by local governments.
"Even now that I've moved to be in charge of initiatives for existing customers, the experience I gained in the new team of 'designing experiences to make customers feel the value of our products' is still very useful. In order to convey originality and added value in a health food market that is filled with many new products every season, I feel it is necessary to use my imagination when making proposals so that customers can imagine how drinking Lypo-C will change their bodies, minds, and even their lives."
Control your health by running every day
To stay healthy, he makes it a point to exercise. As he lives in Kamakura, where SPIC headquarters is located, he says that it's his daily routine to run along the seaside course before going to work.
"At one time I was running 250km a month, but now I run at a more manageable pace of 50-80km a month. Sports, where effort doesn't betray you, seem to suit me. There are various club activities within the company, and I am the club leader of the running club. I also make use of the personal training provided as part of the company's employee benefits, which is a great way to refresh myself. When you're constantly thinking and your brain is tired, you tend to lose your balance, but by getting into the habit of using both your mind and body in the same way, I'm able to fall asleep more easily and I feel that my physical condition is improved."
Mr. Miyashita, how do you take Lypo-C?
The standard dosage for Lypo-C three packets at a time, and he takes them as is, with sublingual absorption in mind. "I take three packets as soon as I wake up in the morning. I also take it when I feel tired at work, and sometimes I take three packets before going to bed at night. I also take three packets after running to replenish the vitamin C that has been lost. The main purpose is to improve work performance and recovery."
As he continued to drink it, he noticed that the way he perceived the taste changed depending on his physical condition. "I tell first-time customers, 'Experience the taste of technology,' and because it contains no additives or sweeteners, it has a unique taste like seawater. However, when I'm really tired from work or after a run, it sometimes tastes good, and I began to wonder if my body was craving vitamin C. I had always suffered from chronic rhinitis, but since I started taking Lypo-C, I feel like there are more and more days when I think, 'Oh, I haven't used a tissue today.'"
Making training your thoughts a habit
Recently, she has also started to pay more attention to her mental health. "I try to make time to concentrate and immerse myself in things like movies or reading. I think that these days we are overwhelmed with social media and information, and while it can provide useful information, it can also be the cause of confusion. It's like a time to reset and get back to myself."
One of my habits is to write down my thoughts in a notebook.
"For example, if you write down the things that make you feel anxious right now and think about what would happen if those worries actually occurred, you might realize that it's something that can actually be prevented, or that it's not something to be too worried about. Putting the vague thoughts that well up inside of you into words helps you check where you are at and set goals. Thinking philosophically about abstract things is a great way to train your thinking."
My personal goal is to develop Lypo-C into a national brand.
"Although Lypo-C is supported mainly by people who are sensitive to beauty and health, I would like to think of ways to reach a wider range of people and develop it into a national brand that everyone knows. I have confidence in the power of the product, and I think it is a brand that still has hidden potential. It is a great pleasure to be able to immerse myself in my work while also being conscious of contributing to society, so that products that I truly believe in can be passed on to the next generation, rather than following trends."
