A gift for a special person. You want something that the recipient will be happy with, something that is different from other gifts, and if possible, something that will surprise them. With all that in mind, choosing a gift can be quite a difficult task, with so many things to consider.
In the "GIFT FOR YOU" project, we ask people from various industries about their tips for choosing gifts. In the third installment, we introduce how model Miyako Takayama gave Lypo-C to her mother.
--I have the impression that you are a professional when it comes to choosing gifts, but what do you usually look out for when choosing gifts?
"I want to give gifts that suit the recipient's lifestyle. I try to imagine their family structure, the style of their room, and the atmosphere they exude, without being too pushy. Just the other day, for a friend's birthday, I gave them an antique dish decorated with silver decoration. It's the only one of its kind, and I think it's nice to see old things that have aged beautifully updated. I have a lot of friends with discerning tastes, so it's getting more difficult to choose gifts as I get older (laughs), but I love thinking about the other person and imagining what they'll want to give."
-- I heard that Miyako first encountered Lypo-C as a gift from a friend.
"That's right. Lypo-C is a bit of a luxury item, and you can't just buy it at a store. Even if you're interested in it, there are hurdles to overcome before you can get your hands on it, right? I remember being very happy that he cared about my health and that he went out of his way to buy it for me. Since then, it has become an indispensable part of my daily life, and is one of my go-to gifts."
-- Of the many supplements available, please tell us why you choose Lypo-C.
"It's high-concentration vitamin C with absolutely no unnecessary ingredients. It's also focused on absorption, so it reaches the body properly. You might think it's a little pricey, but it definitely helps improve your physical condition, so I think it's a worthwhile investment."
-- This time, the mother chose "Lypo-C Vitamin C + D."
"My mother qualified after she turned 40, started her own business and is still actively working, but as her daughter I am worried about her health given her age. However, we live far apart in Tokyo and Osaka, so we don't get to see each other often. So Lypo-C is the perfect gift to convey my daughter's message to her: 'Take good care of yourself.' I feel like I've shared my own talisman with my precious mother. Lypo-C Vitamin C+D also contains Vitamin D, which supports health. In this era of 100-year life spans, we want to strengthen our bodies to extend our healthy lifespan."
-- Even though they live far away, I think her mother will be motivated to continue drinking it because she can imagine Miyako drinking it.
"I would be really happy if that were to happen. Before we got married, I was talking with my husband and I realized that everyone in the Takayama family, including my mother, is independent and doesn't belong to a company (laughs). Because we do jobs that no one can replace, it's especially important to take care of our health, and I want to teach each other good things."
-- How do you usually drink your sake, Miyako?
"I drink it every day, but I change the number of packets I take depending on my physical condition and mood. When I'm tired or before a shoot, I sometimes take five packets a day, but it really does make a difference. It's also indispensable when traveling, when it's easy to get sick, so if I'm traveling for a week, I'll take at least 20 packets with me. I caught a cold in France and got food poisoning in Italy, but having something that I use every day nearby gives me a sense of security, and it has actually helped me in many situations."
-- Mr. Miyako, an advanced Lypo-C user, please tell us your secret tips for taking it.
"When I drink more than usual or when I feel like my throat is starting to hurt, I take Lypo-C in the back of my throat and apply it as a compress to the affected area. My husband, who is even more strict about maintaining his health than I am, also drinks it."
-- What do you recommend for mothers to drink?
"At first, I think it's easiest to mix it with citrus juice. If you think it's a little too sweet, adding some soda makes it refreshing. If you drink it before brushing your teeth or associate it with some other part of your daily routine, I think it will become a habit without any effort."
──Finally, what is the appeal of Lypo-C as a gift?
"As I was talking today, I realized that Lypo-C is the perfect tool to connect with loved ones who live far away. Because it's something I drink regularly, I can explain it enthusiastically, and the mother is interested in it, as if she thought, "If my daughter is recommending it so highly." As I was talking, the faces of loved ones naturally came to mind, and I'm starting to want to send a subscription to my husband's parents' house (laughs)."
Message from a mother who received Lypo-C
Miyako and I are the most similar in terms of personality and temperament among our family, and I feel that we understand each other even when we are apart. She sometimes sends me recommended products, but today I met her in person and she told me about the benefits of "Lypo-C Vitamin C + D," which touched my heart more than usual. For our generation, maintaining a healthy body is a serious issue, so I am very happy to be able to take vitamin D along with C. I would like to continue taking it while thinking of my daughter working hard.
Through gifts, you can share your desire to stay beautiful and healthy with your loved ones. The "GIFT FOR YOU" project will continue to provide a variety of gift-giving occasions.
