Lypo-C presents “AWAKENING” is a series of interviews where professionals who are active in various fields share their “awareness” gained from health and lifestyle. In the "home time" that has been established due to the corona crisis, it seems that more and more people are reconsidering their way of life by arranging their lives. So this time, we asked Miyako Takayama, a model who practices a lifestyle that is full of commitment, to teach us tips to enrich our daily lives.
─Did you notice anything while practicing “living politely”? I can love my bad self, or I can be recognized. For example, when you're busy and your house isn't tidy, it's OK to tidy up as much as you can see. I've gotten better at my mindset, such as keeping the sink and other water areas clean, and just keeping the toilet clean.
It's the same for me, but everyone is busy every day, whether they're working, doing housework, or raising children. All life cannot be perfectly beautiful. If so, I think it's important to "choose" what you need. The criteria for choosing is not someone's opinion, but what you see, investigate, and feel with your own eyes, and choose according to your needs. I think the most important thing in life is to make your own choices.
─ How do you hone your “sense” when choosing things? Actually, I have no sense at all. It has always been complex. My way is to look at something nice and actually use it. Sometimes I go out of my way to buy it. If I visit a nice place, I think about why I thought so. "Why does this space feel good?" I'm going to try the tips I found there this time at home. For example, let's say you saw a vase in a cafe and liked how it was used. But my house isn't as big as a cafe, so big vases don't suit me. Then, try arranging flowers that have been cut short, or using this as a vase, and add your own arrangements. Everything is important to "match your height". Even if the table you find at the home decor store looks great, it's too big for your room and it's more of a distraction than a nice one. The same goes for giving gifts to people. Even if you give something that you don't usually use, it will just become the other person's luggage. ─It's amazing how you can extract the essence and customize it in your own way. As a model, I'm not tall and I'm not well-balanced, but I want to wear nice clothes and have an image of "I want to be like this!" So what can you do to improve yourself? I always think. I'm conscious of "fitting to my height" and "getting closer to myself" in my overall lifestyle.
The best time to drink is when you wake up in the morning or before you go to bed at night. On the day before the shoot, I drank three bottles at once! Don't you want to stay healthy now regardless of the season? In such a case, drink a lot of Lypo-C and go to bed early. Then the next day I feel fine.
Miyako Takayama (Model) Model, actress, and radio personality. Four volumes of the essay book "Takayama Miyako no Gourmet Appearance" series, which summarizes his own lifestyle, have been published.
The important thing is to choose
─Mr. Takayama, who is active as a model, does not convey "living carefully" but "living carefully". How did you come up with that idea? I'm not a person who is good at organizing things, such as leading a regular life every day. Sloppy and rather rough. However, my public image is far apart, such as "a polite person" or "a person with a wonderful lifestyle". When I am busy, I eat junk food and my life is irregular. Despite that, I felt like I was lying and I didn't like that I was so far from everyone's image. One day, I had the opportunity to talk with a fan, and when I talked about it, he said, "Everyone thinks that Miyako-san's 'polite life' isn't about living in a regular or beautiful way, but rather dealing with people properly. I think it's 'polite' when you look at someone's posture and tell them straight through their eyes," she said. It made me very happy, and I decided to practice "living carefully" as an attitude to live, instead of "living carefully" to arrange my life beautifully.

A lifestyle that matches your height
─I get the impression that you are surrounded by things that you are particular about. What are your criteria for buying things? It depends on whether or not you are “throbbing”. Not because it's trendy or because someone owns it, but when you see it through your own filter. On the other hand, I don't want to keep anything in my house that isn't. For example, I'm concerned about the packaging of detergents, so I usually replace them with different containers. Avoid using plastic containers as much as possible. However, even with that said, I can't do it all, so I'm always trying to find ways to keep things out of sight, closed, and so on. Also, when I buy things, I feel like I choose to be a member of the team. When I buy a new plate, I really think about whether or not a new child can join the team. It's the same with clothes. No matter how nice an item is, if it doesn't suit my team, I won't buy it. Conversely, even if I don't think it suits me, if there is a possibility that this rookie will take me to a new world, I will choose it. By joining this child, he stirs up the team in a good way. It's also an investment in the future.

* At the time of shooting, Mr. Takayama appeared in plain clothes. The feminine pink knit, layered leather skirt, masculine watch and accessories, and the styling with a sense of mixture was wonderful.
─ Speaking of Mr. Takayama, I feel that your SNS and books are life-size, and sometimes you can see even the embarrassing inner part of your heart. Well, especially in my 30s, I experienced a big heartbreak, and I changed a lot with each setback. In my case, I don't think of setbacks as mere failures, but I try to think of them as opportunities to change. When I openly write about my frustration on social media, I get a lot of feedback. I would be happy if people who are worried now can get some hints or be a chance to move on. Once I become naked, I feel like all the embarrassment has disappeared (laughs)People gather around people who are having fun
─Mr. Takayama, you always have a wonderful smile. When I heard about the "law of dolphins" from a person I worked with, I thought it was really good and put it into practice. When people see dolphins in the ocean, they think, "I want to swim with them!" or "I want to play with them!" But dolphins are very smart animals, so they are wary of people. So what should I do to play with dolphins? First of all, it is to swim and play happily near the dolphins. Then the dolphins will observe from afar and say, "What is that?" When one dolphin plays like that, more and more dolphins gather around it—this is the "law of dolphins." When I start something, I don't care about the evaluation of those around me, and I cherish "I just enjoy myself!". Friends and evaluation will come later. People gather around people who are having fun.Be selfish, not selfish.
─Mr. Takayama, you have established your own style. I agree. I tried many things while getting lost and failing. It's so easy now. Of course, since we are human, we may have troubles and conflicts. But (since I changed to my current style), life has become much easier. Don't be selfish, just be "selfish"! Say. When I think about it, I've lost the ability to compare myself with other people. Life, health and beauty are all pushing ahead with "selfishness".
Takayama City's view of health
─Mr. Takayama, you are famous for your love of cooking and pottery. Both my parents worked, so I was able to devise things from a young age, such as reheating the rice my mother cooked for me later and arranging it myself, or just changing the presentation of the plate. I liked it. I started cooking properly after I became an adult and started living alone. In my twenties, I ate and drank a lot, but in my mid-thirties, I began to review my diet. After I started cooking properly, I thought that if I was going to go to great lengths to cook, I would like a nice plate. From there, I started to become obsessed with pottery, and now I have a large number of pottery. ─Are you conscious of nutrition when cooking? The staple food at home is mostly brown rice. White rice and wheat are delicious when eating out, but brown rice is the base at home. Brown rice is “rice dressed in nutritious clothes”. White rice does not wear the clothes of nutrition. It's delicious, sweet, sugary, and carbohydrates, but brown rice is covered in a lot of "nutrition clothes" such as zinc, vitamins, and dietary fiber. I eat it without taking off my clothes (laughs). When I'm busy, I defrost the frozen brown rice and just have brown rice and tofu. That alone provides protein, dietary fiber, vitamins and zinc. Just by eating brown rice, you can have a well-balanced meal. As for vegetables, I try to actively choose dark-colored vegetables (green and yellow vegetables) such as kale, coriander, and garland chrysanthemum. The important thing is that everything is within a reasonable range. When I can, I do my best, and when I'm busy, I just eat brown rice. It's important to slow down. ─I heard that you are incorporating Lypo-C into your lifestyle. Please tell us your impressions and how you usually drink. I love Lypo-C so much that I even order regular flights. However, when I drank it for the first time, I was surprised at the taste (laughs). As a result, I ended up dividing it with orange juice. It's good because you can get it at convenience stores, and even a small amount can be poured into it. It's been going on for about a year.
The goal is "a person who is good at traveling"
─Mr. Takayama, is there anything you are conscious of for your “future self”? In terms of health, the better your metabolism, the better your circulation will be. Mentally, I'm conscious of being a good person who doesn't accumulate stress and negativity. The same is true in relationships. I personally think that people who are open-minded are wonderful. I remember the things that made me happy, and I can do that to someone else. So is exercise. It's been 10 years since I started running, and many of the people who are exercising don't have a stagnant energy that emanates from their pores, and they are bright. Isn't exercise written as "moving luck"? In other words, if you think that just by exercising, you can become a person with good health and well-being (laughs). "Exercise, food, life". I would like to continue working as hard as I can.
